This unique and colorful necklace is crafted from recycled magazine paper. Each hand-rolled bead is separated with silver-toned Giriama accent rings, and the necklace is finished with a rhodium-plated chain.
The beads are coated with a clear, non-toxic lacquer making them water-resistant and durable. Colors may vary slightly as each necklace is handcrafted from available materials.
Adjustable from 18 to 20 inches.
Fair Trade made in Kenya.
Lilian heads a team of paper bead makers in Kisumu, western Kenya.
She oversees up to 40 women in Kenya and Uganda and makes sure that we never run short of recycled paper beads. Each bead is individually cut and rolled from magazine pages ensuring a steady supply of work for these women.
The mission of Acacia Creations has always been to improve lives in a long-lasting and sustainable way. We go beyond fair trade by creating jobs, providing training, and giving back to communities through our education and healthcare initiatives. We work directly with hundreds of craftsmen and women at our Nairobi, Kenya studio and across East Africa to improve their skills and product designs.
In 2013, our passion for beautiful, hand-crafted items led us to Asia where we have expanded our fair trade partnerships. We're now proud to work with extremely talented artisans in Thailand, Vietnam, India and the Philippines.
